Map the customer journey: find the moments that matter
A customer journey map is just the order a buyer moves through, with the feelings marked at each stage. For a small store that is roughly discover, first purchase, unbox, and the reorder decision.
AI can draft the whole thing from your reviews and support themes. Your job is to fix the worst moment first.
Fastest path: one prompt, end to end

You are a CX researcher. Use MY inputs only (invent nothing).
My product: [what it is]
Paste 10-20 recent reviews (good and bad): [reviews]
Top 3 support / complaint themes: [themes]
Do this:
1. Draft a journey map with 4-5 stages (discover, first purchase, unbox, first use, reorder decision) fitted to my product.
2. For each stage, mark the emotional peak (what delights) and the pain point (what causes friction), grounded ONLY in my reviews/support themes; quote the signal you used.
3. Identify the single WORST moment (biggest pain, highest impact on repeat).
4. Give one fix for that one moment, and say what to leave alone for now.
If you don't have a signal for a stage, say so; do not guess.
Output: stage-by-stage map (peak + pain) + worst moment + one fix.
Or do it in 4 steps
- List the stages a real buyer moves through. Discover, first purchase, unbox, first use, reorder decision. Keep it to four or five; a map with twenty boxes never gets used.
- Mark the peak and the pain at each stage. Where do people feel delight (a great unboxing) and where do they hit friction (confusing sizing, slow shipping)? Ground every mark in a real review or support ticket, not a hunch.
- Fix the worst moment first. Rank pains by how much they hurt repeat purchase, then fix exactly one. A single fixed pain point beats a dozen half-plans, and it is usually obvious once the map is on paper.
- Feed it into the post-purchase experience. The stages after the sale are where repeat is won or lost; see post-purchase-experience for the flow that turns a good unbox into a second order.
Worked example (labeled): For an illustrative skincare store, the map reads: discover (peak: founder story; pain: unclear which product to start with), first purchase (pain: shipping cost surprise at checkout), unbox (peak: sample + note), reorder (pain: no reminder when the bottle runs out).
Worst moment: the reorder gap. Fix: a replenishment email timed to the ~30-day bottle life, leaving the rest for later. Build yours from your own reviews.
Map four stages, mark peak and pain from real feedback, then fix the single worst moment first.
